Drink of the Week for Feb 11th, 2005: Chocolate Covered Cherry Shot

What we had to say

It's almost Valentine's Day again! Yet another tradition that began with sacrificing things to a wolf god in caves while wearing hides and then drawing lottery stubs to see who gets to go to the orgy. We're kind of tired of traditions like that (there's more than you think). It's not really the change from dead-animal-wearing to box-of-chocolate-giving that we mind, it's the fact that flowers suddenly seem to be three times as expensive. As Ming vases. Filled with diamonds. But everyone's got to make a living, and if you're Hallmark, then capitalizing on wolf-god-orgy days is a good idea. This leads us here at Drinknation to figure that if we could make our own holiday, we'd be rich too. The only trouble would be getting National Bus-Driving Monkeys Day sanctioned by a church, government, or large corporation. We've got lobby groups on it already. Hey, monkeys like driving too.

If we didn't mention it already, we've got Valentine's Day drinks up.

Happy Valentine's Day!
