Drink of the Week for Feb 18th, 2005: Red Snapper

What we had to say

How do you get to be the person that names stuff? Sending out weekly drinks is pretty good, but it can't be as good as being the Naming Guy. If you've ever looked at paint samples, you'll know what we're talking about. "Jamaican Sea", "Outback", "Bayou"? Those aren't colors! They're places! How do you come up with a color name of "Dublin"? What sort of mamma-jamma do you have to be into when you're confusing the capital of a country with a specific wavelength of reflected light? We want to be the guy that says, "Honey, I had a tough day at work. I just couldn't think of a stylish-yet-whimsical name for this new shade of greyish-green we developed. I was going to call it 'New Moon Gnome', but then I thought maybe 'Drooling Manatee' was better. Give me sympathy." And you just know that they've got fancy titles like "Polychromasia Optics Engineer" and get an office with a window.

Whoa, we sound bitter today. Time to call it a week, and kick back with a Red Snapper. Wait, Red Snapper? How about Lucid Ruby Snapper? Or Promethean Cardinal Snapper? See, we can do it too. (Note to Namey Guys: we are available for hire. But we want an office with a window).
