Drink of the Week for Aug 9th, 2001: Monkey's Lunch
What we had to say
Hostile takeovers are never that friendly, and ours was no exception. Sick of the verbal abuse, long work hours and overall incompetence of the rest of the staff, not to mention all the funny ideas they got after watching "Planet of the Apes" five times last weekend, our copy writers rose up from their typewriters this week and took over the head office by force. We were able to barricade the boardroom doors while our monkeys shouted their demands at us. Fortunately, some of our more expendable interns created a diversion, allowing someone to slip away and buy a few crates of banana liqueur.
Due to this fortunate event we were able to give a peace offering and a settlement was reached - our monkeys would go back to work if they could create this week's drink, and we had to invite them to more parties. In return, we got nothing, except a most excellent drink of the week. Seemed fair to us.
