Dec 30th, 2012My all time favourite cocktail and the one that I will celebrate NYE 2012 with tonight with my girfriends. We love them! I definitely wouldn't leave the ice in the glass, but freeze your glasses ahead of time and keep the cream icy but not frozen when you make it and the result is splendid. It HAS to have the Dark Creme de Cacao with the Brandy/Cognac or it doesn't taste right. The nutmeg should be freshly grated over the top of two crossed swizzle sticks to make a nice pattern on the creamy mixture!

Feb 16th, 2010My first Brandy Aleander (in the late 1960's) was in the Playboy Club on Park Lane, London England while my friend was drinking Burbon Manhattens. After trying many in a number of countries I always remember that first expereimce as being the best. The bartender made it (2oz Brandy 3oz cream) with crushed ice and shook it well but left the ice in the dink and then of course the nutmeg.
