Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz. Gin
  • 1 1/2 oz. Ginger Ale
  • 1 1/2 oz. Grape Juice
  • 1/2 oz. Water

How to Make It

Combine gin, ginger ale and grape juice in a glass with ice cubes. Stir and add water.

    This recipe takes me back to central Wisconsin, circa 1970's. I seem to remember that our Purple Jesus was slightly different. I think we used Vodka and/or Gin and Ginger Ale but instead of grape juice we utilized Blackberry Brandy. However, the biggest difference was that we usually served it in a shot glass. Let's say use a jigger (1.5 oz.) shot glass and pour in almost half clear booze and almost half ginger ale leaving room to add a layer of Blackberry Brandy on top to color it deep purple.
