Anonymous: You must be joking, son. A whole lemon in a Whiskey Sour, plus a whole lime? And two freakin tablespoons of sugar? Why not throw in a few boxes of chocolate truffles while you're at it? Here's a Whiskey Sour: two jiggers of any whiskey, no more than one half lemon, no more than one teaspoon of sugar syrup.

The egg white makes this into a Boston sour, so don't add it if you want a normal whiskey sour. Not sure why anyone would want it anyway. The Gomme syrup already acts like a thickener and emulsifier.

This is not a whisky sour. First of all, you ONLY use blended scotch whisky in a sour. Single malt works as well, but they aren't as consistent and are usually much stronger. You mix 2 jiggers of scotch with the juice of one lemon, one lime, a dash of bitters,a couple of tablespoons of finely granulated sugar or simple syrup. Shake over cracked ice, strain and serve in a sour glass.
