    Triplea Sec is no sutstitute for Cointrau. A Sidecar made with Cointrau is altogether superior to one made with Triple Sec.

    I agree (too much lemon juice for me). For the classic Sidecar you also moisten the rim of the glass with lemon, then rub in some sugar (turn downwards onto a saucer with some sugar).

    Triple Sec is a poor substitute for Contreau; perfect Sidecare is 2 oz Cognac 2 oz Contreau 1/2 oz lemon juice
