What would you do differently for a winter cocktail featuring chinotto, without making it taste like some seasonal pumpkin-spice like tea?

I'm glad you enjoyed it, I think its a nice twist on a classic receipe.

I mixed this up and it's quite tasty. I enjoy the bitter chinotto offset by the sweet triple sec. A refreshing summer drink. Will appeal to those who like Campari and soda.
