Drink of the Week for Jul 4th, 2003: Sour AppleBall

What we had to say

And a happy Independence Day to you all. If it's not your Independence Day, well then, happy Friday. If it's not Friday, we envy your use of a non-Gregorian calendar system, because you can probably just tell your boss that it's the weekend whenever you feel like it. Either that, or you're just reading this late. Whatever the case, the real point is that the darn Romans don't run things anymore, so everyone grab some explosives and a lighter! Just try not to start any out-of-control fires please. We realize the temptation to aim them at your neighbour's miniature poodle is hard to resist, but just remember that flaming poodles are classified as munitions by NATO, due to their incendiary properties, long-range effectiveness, and annoying bark. If you buy poodles, you're supporting terrorism.

Up in Canada, the July 1st holiday fell on a Tuesday, which was a total shaft for everyone who wanted a long weekend. So in all likelihood, a lot of Canadians are going to dogsled their way to the border for some weekend partying and mutual fireworking. As concerned international citizens, we've already warned both border authorities to be on their best guard. We don't want any poodles slipping through.
